UNDERGROUND
PARKING, HÔPITAL HÔTEL DIEU DE QUÉBEC
Construction |

|
VALUE
: $10,355,000
Completed in the very heart of downtown Quebec City, the
construction work that went into this underground parking
lot required high-calibre expertise. At more than 30 metres
deep into rock, 550 parking spaces spread out over 18 half
floors were created.
Under the Côte-du-Palais, drilling work on a
50 meters pedestrian tunnel connecting the parking lot to
the main entrance of the hospital was completed without vehicle
traffic being affected.
More than 10,000 m3 of concrete were necessary
to complete the project, which was undertaken in the winter.
Surface landscaping work completed the project.
|
|
All the work was accomplished in a limited
space. The worksite being surrounded by three streets and
historical buildings, there was no storage area, which required
very careful work planning. The site was finished 2 months
ahead of schedule.
A master’s piece of work!

CINÉMA
IMAX, QUEBEC CITY
Construction
|
 |
VALUE
: $3,245,000
We are proud to have directed the construction of this Imax
cinema complex, which at the time had the 3rd largest screen
in the world.
The theatre, covering a space of 560 m2, can seat
350 spectators.
|
Added to imposing size of
the construction was the challenge of respecting significant
technical requirements for ensuring the best quality soundproofing.
The very complex mechanical work required advanced logistics
and management.
Adjacent to a very popular shopping centre, the work required
specific safety measures that were maintained throughout
the project to protect the general public.
Strengthened by that success, Béland & Lapointe
was chosen for the construction of the Les Ailes Imax complex
in Brossard!

MUSÉE
DE LA CITÉ DE L'ÉNERGIE, SHAWINIGAN
Construction |
|
|
VALUE
: $5,731,000
What an accomplishment this 1,700 m2 museum is,
with its very audacious architectural design!
The project also included the construction of an observation
tower overlooking the site from a height of 120 metres.
This tower, the only one of its kind in Quebec, includes
an exterior panoramic elevator that operates 12 months out
of the year.
Inside the museum, a multimedia projection room with an ingenious
seating system that can rotate 360 degrees was constructed.
An impressive accomplishment!

CHÂTEAU
FRONTENAC
Construction, redevelopment and lighting |
|

|
VALUE
:
More than $15,000,000
This prestigious Quebec City hotel has been making use of
our expertise for more than 10 years. It should therefore
not be surprising that our team was the one to complete this
first lighting project for a building in Quebec!
In our opinion, respecting the client above all else means
listening to their needs. It is probably what has allowed
us to complete all these projects over the years without
interrupting the regular operations of the hotel and without
impacting its prestigious clientele.
|
Included
among the completed projects are: the construction and redevelopment
of meeting rooms, the superb « Golden Entrance » and
the popular stained glass in the restaurant-terace. Our services
were also required for the redevelopment of many luxury suites,
rooms, the main entry hall and multiple service areas.
The rebuilding of the exterior of the Château and the
redevelopment of the famous roof garden, completed using
a 250-ton crane, are extraordinary achievements given the
very dense urban environment.
In perfect coherence with the needs of the hotel’s
management, our approach has always been to ensure the maintenance
of Château Frontenac activities by ensuring the tranquility
of its clientele.
Collaboration crowned with success…

: $318,000
We are proud of the development in the Musée du
Québec buildings through their architectural lighting.
Excellent coordination and all of our team’s know-how
were necessary in ensuring the successful completion of
this project:

generators;

canalization in the walls of the historical old Quebec prison.
A historical jewel splendidly redeveloped!

BÂTIMENT
346, LAURALCO, DESCHAMBEAULT
Expansion |
|
|
VALUE
: $1,655,000
The 2,500 m2 expansion of the plant was necessary
to house the new equipment used in the manufacturing of
vats used to pour aluminium.
|
Despite
the difficult climactic conditions and major engineering
requirements (the rails on the 200-ton rolling bridge had
to be extended in a perfect line with a margin of error of
less than 0.001%) our project team fully satisfied Lauralco
while respecting the set schedule.
Precision regardless of the
conditions!
